South African BASE Association

Basejumping.co.za is a site formed through BASE jumpers and BASE enthusiasts. The site is essentially a redesign of SABASE.net along with numerous new features. Originally it was my idea to create a separate site from the South African BASE Association site, though through contacting Gloei Cilliers who owns sabase.net we decided it would probably be best for the BASE community if we could incorporate both our ideas and sites into one- and hence www.basejumping.co.za

The development of basejumping.co.za was one of community involvement, there were numerous discussions with local jumpers on what the site should have and what it shouldn't. So a big thanks goes out to all the locals, they know who they are.

The primary goal of basejumping.co.za is to have a platform where all local jumpers can communicate, share photos, upload news and events and basically just build one local online community for BASE jumping in South Africa. Everyone is welcome to partake in forum discussions and are encouraged to get to know the guys.

BASE jumping anywhere is a community where you are expected to have patience and realize that no information you receive is owed to you, but rather an extension of courtesy from the community. BASE is a dangerous activity and no one wants to see fatalities so I advise, should you be interested in starting BASE that you post in the forums first, introduce yourself and have some conversations with the local jumpers. There is a lot to learn, but if you're truly interested you will lend your ear for the advise you can receive.
